Ubuket - media sharing app

Ubuket is a web based multimedia service that aims to make access to your media anywhere and from as many devices as possible.

As a member of Ubuket you can upload your media to it’s server (known as your own Ubuket). This media can be from online services like the usual Flickr, YouTube, Last.FM or your local machine. Playlists can then be generated.

There is integration with Seeqpod where you can search form online music and add it to your ‘Ubuket’, although it is merely a link to prevent any copyright infringement.

The AIR application is only one of many ways in which you can interact with your media content through Ubuket. There is integration with social network sites like Facebook, or embeded directly on your site. As well as iPhone and browser based access.

The app performed fine in my testing, although I have not yet used all of the features it has.

Design eye

The UI is a little small and unconventional, I did find that the text entered into the search area to be quite illegible at times. That said the use of a demo video to guide you through the app (just like eBay desktop) was nice.

Content appears in the main window to the left and I liked the integrated player. The app did not feel as well thought out or put together as DiggTop.

In summary, I would just like it to be a bit bigger and possible a little brighter. Interesting to see how it develops and if they take on board user feedback.

Technical eye

Built using ActionScript 3 and Flash together with many web based service API’s for accessing content.

Hi, thanks for your reference to ubuket. Thank you very much for your suggestions. We are improving our app and making it a little bigger. That should help a bit. We are also simplifying the interface to increase usability.

    Thanks,

    Bernardo. CEO ubuket.
