Tiltshift with Adobe AIR

You will love this simple AIR application called TilfShift. For those who are even slightly interested in photography you will have heard of the term tiltshift. Mostly referring to special lenses for SLR cameras the technique is now being mimmicked in Photoshop by budding designers and producing some stunning results.

Well this AIR application takes the requirement for Photoshop and a knowledge of it’s filters and masking and chucks them in the bin (or trash to you USA folks!). Simply open an image file then play with the seven sliders to alter your image.

Why do I like it so much? Well firstly the results are fantastic, but most importantly is the way you get to that result – the user experience. No pre required knowledge is needed and the interface interaction is extremely simple. Hiding the complexities behind a simple usable interface.

You can see my result here (the photo is one of my originals from Milan last year).

Design eye

Clear and concise interface and looks nice with the dark theme going on.

I would have liked the ability to drag a photo onto the application as well and possibly drag out to save. Adding multiple images would be a nice enhancement. That said it functions well in it’s current form. Simplicity.

The applications icon looks very iPhone ish which is nice and it looks great on my Mac dock.

Technical eye

Not sure what this is built in but it’s on the Flash Platform with the AIR runtime API’s.

Summary

Download this today and get playing. A great example of AIR application simplicity by the community, great fun!

Thanks for your introducing my app! :-)

Drag in for AIR app is already supported.
I will add Drag out and Ctrl+V for imporing from clipbord for the future.

Thre reason of the iPhoenic icon is that this app was originally made for prototype of iPhone app like my other ToyCamera and QuadCamera.

    Anyway Thanks!

Sorry about the drag comment in my review, I did try it on my Mac and couldn’t get it to work.

Great stuff though and looks like your getting some decent exposure now too. :-)

Keep us posted on any more cool apps that you might be working on.
