TeamUSA - Olympic AIR Widget

Hot on the heals of the BBC Olympics AIR widget previously reviewed here on RefreshingApps comes an offering from FiltrBox.

As the name suggests TeamUSA is designed purely for the USA market and supply all the information needed to follow the teams progress. Like the BBC application, TeamUSA allows you to create a custom feed of information that’s displayed on your desktop. The approach taken by the FiltrBox team gives you the option of choosing an event or individual athletes feeds. Your chosen feeds are then shown in a simple list.

Once you have selected your feeds of interest you can export them as an OPML file for integration into your usual feed reader.

Feeds are collated every 5 minutes and are displayed in a list within the widget. Detailed reading of the articles is not available within the widget and clicking the headline just loads up the site in your default browser. but I guess that is the idea of a simple new widget.

If your following the USA at the Olympics and want a cool AIR widget for your desktop then give TeamUSA a go.

Design Eye

Simple branding and a better scroll bar than the BBC widget it is easily readable. I would have liked the preferences button to be a lot more prominent within the UI instead of a very small green i.
