Reviewed Showcase App
SpreadTweet
June 06th 2009 | by James
I though I would share this AIR app as I found it quite amusing. It’s called SpreadTweet and is a simple Twitter client disguised as an Excel spreadsheet! Ideal for those of you who should be working on accounts or other boring stuff who are instead Tweeting like there is no tomorrow.
It’s built by a UK guy called Elliot Kember who has done some recent work for Carsonified the people who run FOWA and FOWD.
So there it is really. You get simple functionality like viewing direct messages, replies and send tweets. Don’t expect any fancy bells and whistles here it’s just good fun.
Design and usability eye
Err comedy value it’s great right down to the dock / taskbar icon. It does look quite convincing although I don’t spend any time of using Excel.
Technical eye
Built using HTML, JavaScript and CSS together with the AIR framework.
