One for the developers amongst us. RegEx or regular expressions can be extremely useful and also totally confusing. From the site:

RegExr Desktop is a tool for learning, editing, and testing regular expressions (RegEx or RegExp for short) on Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux.

This tool, built by Grant Skinner combines a quick reference guide to the regex syntax and the functionality to try out matching and replacing your chosen text with a regular expression. That’s it nothing more complicated, no file saving or tabs for multiple matching. Obviously aimed at the ActionScript 3 developers amongst us, RegEx is pretty much universal so a good tool to have in your arsenal of development tools.

Design eye

Not much on this front really. Standard Adobe Flex Halo theme is used, no custom chrome or application icons a bare minimum here. From a usability perspective it is clear and consice although a quick help guide might be needed for complete newbies.

Technical eye

Built using Adobe Flex, with local XML file containing the RegEx docs used in the sidebar.
