Feedalizer - friendfeed on your desktop
April 20th 2008 | by James
If you are looking for a really simple way to receive your friendfeed on your desktop then feedalizer might just be the answer for you. It is a read only application at the moment, meaning that you cannot post to the likes of Twitter or Pownce.
The people behind this say they have some big plans and to follow them on their Twitter feed, however I think they have a tough act to follow considering the competition of Alert Thingy and Twhirl.
The advantage I can see so far is that it is just passive and does not command a large space of your desktop like Twhirl can if you have many feeds and accounts open.
Design eye
Simple colour scheme although I’m not sure the turquoise on grey is the best combination for readability (on the Twitter feed). What I do like is the transition between the setting screen and the main screen, the screen blurs and then turns cool.
Technical eye
The app is SWF based but I’m not sure but given it’s file size I would guess that it’s Flash and not Flex.
