The new text layout framework is fantastic in the latest version of Flex and AIR, using the new Flash Text Engine
Head on over to the Adobe labs page for the textlayout that has a tour of the new features.
Mihai CORLAN has a great write up on the new features, so if your in developing an AIR application that needs advanced text flowing and support for right to left languages you need to read up on this.
