Google maps API for Flash

comments closed May 15th 2008 | by James

I know that many of you have been waiting for this but after Yahoo and ESRI, Google have finally released an ActionScript 3 API for Google Maps. Well this means no more bridging for us AIR developers and we can now develop pure AS3 apps for AIR with mapping from Google.

UPDATE Apparently the ActionScript Google Maps API does not work with AIR and contravenes the terms and conditions. This sucks big time and if there was an area which would have seen an explosion in mapping apps then it would be with us AIR developers.

Ryan Stewart has a related entry on his blog which highlights a feature request on Google Code so go and offer up your support.
