Response to ReadWriteWeb article on AIR

comments closed July 15th 2009 | by James

Over at ReadWriteWeb there is an article surrounding Adobe AIR focusing on the honeymoon period being over for the framework.

But recently, we’ve begun to question AIR’s longevity. Now don’t get us wrong – many of our favorite apps (TweetDeck, Tumbleweed, Yammer, etc.) are built using Adobe AIR. However, there’s no reason why these apps couldn’t just run in a browser instead…and that might even be a better place for them.

I personally think that the writer does have a point, some of ...

Individual security certificates for your AIR apps

comments closed January 05th 2009 | by James

Chosen security now offers individual developers the opportunity to purchase code signing certificates for Adobe AIR applications.

The cost is a little high at around $199 for 1 year, but if you value your AIR development it could prove a worthwhile investment.

Having a trusted certificate makes distributing your AIR application to the general public a better experience. This is due to the fact that they can be assured that it’s from the correct developer and not someone else.
