Over at the Adobe Dev Centre there is an interesting article covering some common mistakes when developing AIR applications. It’s written by AIR guru David Tucker who is an AIR and Flex developer for Universal Mind.

It didn’t take long, until some wise startup uses AIR as a platform for laying down ads in a poor attempt at just wrapping a webbrowser.
I’m not the only one that was not impressed with SocialU’s AIR app, ReadWriteWeb has a writeup that is worth a read and expresses much of the thoughts that I had on the app. Make your own mind up. Read the article here.
Adobe AIR on BoagWorld podcast

The popular podcast for web designers, developers and owners by Paul Boag has an interview with AIR developer Jonathan Snook – who developed the Snoto AIR previously reviewed here on RefreshingApps.
In podcast 130, Jonathan covers what Adobe AIR is and some inside tips and tricks for the beginner. Boagworld is a great entertaining podcast so give it a listen.
RoboHelp packager for Adobe AIR

Adobe have released an AIR app for packaging up RoboHelp.

Yahoo releases music API

Yahoo have announced an API for their music service. Detailed on programmableweb the service is REST based and allows for JSON, XML and RSS responses. Requests are currently limited to 5000 per day although if your using AIR you will be caching your results locally. Should be interesting to see what apps evolve out of the music API. There is also a support forum setup for this API.
